Many people ask how myself Lauren, and my partner Brant found our way into the world of tallow and its incredible medicinal properties. For us, it began with a deeply personal journey rooted in my own battle with dermatitis and a desire to discover simple, effective solutions for myself and others facing similar struggles.
As someone with extremely sensitive skin and a host of allergies to grasses, flowers, and animals, I know firsthand the challenges of navigating skin health. Growing up, my childhood was marked by constant rashes, hives, and unrelenting itchiness. My skin became thinner, drier, and more fragile over time. Like many, I relied on over-the-counter creams, unaware of the long-term damage they were causing.
In adulthood, my struggles escalated when I developed perioral dermatitis—a painful and persistent condition. Doctors prescribed creams and medications, but relief was always temporary. The cycle of flare-ups and prescriptions felt endless until I decided to dig deeper.
I began examining the everyday products I used, researching the ingredients, and was horrified by the harsh chemicals hiding in the so-called “healthy” skincare items. That realization led me to throw everything out and search for a truly natural remedy. That’s when I discovered tallow.
