Our Tinted Zinc Tallow Balm combines grass-fed beef tallow, non-nano zinc oxide, organic cold-pressed coconut oil and organic cold-pressed jojoba oil with one simple addition:

Organic raw cocoa.

The cocoa gives this balm its subtle earthy tint — but that's not the only difference.

It also changes the texture.

Compared with our creamy Non-Tinted Zinc Tallow Balm, the Tinted formula has a thicker, firmer and slightly drier consistency, giving it a more substantial feel in the tin.

Not much is needed - It takes a little more warming between your fingertips, but once softened, it spreads beautifully across the skin.

WHY IS TINTED THICKER?

It's the cocoa.

Adding organic raw cocoa doesn't just change the colour of the balm — it changes its consistency too.

It creates a slightly drier, firmer balm in the tin compared with our Non-Tinted formula.

And just to be clear: when we say slightly drier, we're talking about the texture of the balm itself, not how it's intended to leave your skin feeling.

Give it a few seconds between warm fingertips and it'll begin to soften, making it much easier to spread.

WHAT MAKES THE TINT?

No synthetic colourants here.

The earthy colour comes from organic raw cocoa.

We add it to soften the appearance of the naturally white zinc formula while keeping the ingredient list simple.

Because we're using a natural ingredient rather than creating a colour-matched makeup product, the tint may look different depending on your individual skin tone.

TINTED OR NON-TINTED?

They're close relatives — but they're definitely not identical.

Choose Tinted if:
You want the addition of a subtle earthy tint and prefer a thicker, firmer consistency.

Choose Non-Tinted if:
You'd rather have the softest, creamiest version and don't mind the naturally white appearance of zinc oxide.

Think of it this way:

Non-Tinted = creamy + white
Tinted = thicker + earthy

HOW TO USE

Because Tinted is naturally firmer than our Non-Tinted formula, start by scooping out a small amount and warming it thoroughly between clean fingertips.

Once softened, gently massage onto the desired areas of skin and build as needed.

The natural cocoa tint can appear differently across different skin tones, so we recommend starting with a small amount until you find the finish you prefer.

What's the difference between Tinted and Non-Tinted?
Two main things: colour and consistency. Tinted contains organic raw cocoa, giving it an earthy tint and making the balm thicker and firmer. Non-Tinted doesn't contain cocoa, so it's noticeably softer and creamier.

Why is Tinted firmer?
The organic raw cocoa changes the consistency of the formula, making it thicker and slightly drier in texture than Non-Tinted.

Does that mean it dries out the skin?
No — when we describe it as “drier,” we're referring specifically to the consistency of the balm in the tin compared with our creamier Non-Tinted formula.

Where does the colour come from?
Organic raw cocoa. We don't use synthetic colourants to create the tint.

Will the tint match every skin tone?
It's not designed as a colour-matched foundation, so the finish will naturally vary between skin tones. Start with a small amount and build from there.

Does it contain fragrance?
There's no added fragrance or essential-oil fragrance blend. Because it contains real raw cocoa and other natural ingredients, you may notice their natural aroma.

Why does the consistency change with temperature?
Natural fats and oils respond to temperature. The balm may become firmer in cooler weather and softer in warmer conditions. This is normal.
